In this engaging and insightful session, Deric shared a comprehensive view of China’s market landscape—covering macroeconomic outlook, structural shifts, and the significant opportunities driven by affluent Chinese consumers. Drawing on data from the EternityX x Huawei whitepaper, he translated complex insights into practical frameworks for students preparing to navigate global markets.


A key focus of the session was understanding the behaviours and motivations of China’s high-value consumers, and how brands can unlock growth by aligning with their evolving digital journeys. Deric also explored China’s distinctive “walled garden” digital ecosystem, offering students a clear perspective on how global brands can effectively connect with Chinese audiences both domestically and internationally.


The session sparked dynamic discussion and reflection among students, reinforcing the importance of cultural intelligence and market-specific strategies in today’s interconnected business environment.
